I'm sorry. Have we met? You look awfully familiar...wait, I know. Uncle Fred? I'm sorry I forgot to send you a Christmas card, it's just that...hey, you're not Uncle Fred.

Whew. Glad we got that cleared up. So, it's been a while, hasn't it? Of course, I have the usual excuses: work, school, laziness, saving the world from utter annihilation, but mainly I think one word sums it up: television. Lots of good television: The West Wing, Buffy, Angel, Enterprise, 24, Alias, just to name a few. Of course, I don't watch all of those every week (really, Mom!). Course not. I'm far too busy. Cause sometimes, I'm watching movies: Bandits, The Last Castle, Monsters, Inc., Spy Game, Harry Potter, Ocean's 11. And there's always videogames: Quake III, Rogue Spear, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Ghost Recon. I've got to keep up appearances, you know? It's important in my very squiggly line of work.

Okay, I've been lazy. We all know this. But I'm back, baby, and I'm ready to go. Finals are over, and my GPA may very well be a non-imaginary number. Heck, I've even lined up a couple of interviews over January break, so I may have a job next year. If that's not scary, I don't know what is. Also, lest I forget, I'll also be doing an externship for school over winter break. Basically, that involves following an alum around for a day or two and seeing what they do, learning about an industry, etc. I'm really looking forward to this, and not merely because of the fact that the place where I'm going has a soft spot in the hearts of men across the country. Yep, that's right, I'm spending a day at Maxim. I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes, and whether or not the people at the magazine are as crazy as they appear to be on a monthly basis.

Speaking of crazy, the boyz and I have been a little out of touch recently. They seem to have this thing called work, which I don't entirely understand. Anyway, the inestimable T$ is, as I understand, due to work his mad Flizash skills as a TA next semester. Imagine. Tony grading things. The thought sends chills to my spine. Jason seems to be around and about, but between the end of school, his RA work, and his comic club, he seems to be a tad preoccupied. As for the magical Kai, I have heard very little out of the man for several months. In fact, it's been almost a year since I've seen him. Now that's weird. In fact, I've hardly seen him since the strip started. Hmmm....I sense a nefarious connection.

Did I just mention that it'll almost be a year of Comics Ex Machina? Well, yes I did. Mark your calendars ladies and gentleman, because next Tuesday is Comics Ex Machina's One Year Anniversary Bash! I heard there was something else going on that day, but I'm sure you can reschedule your plans. It's possible that the strip mentioned by the all-powerful Jason will be up by then. Of course, if you're on our mailing list (see the box above), you would know (hint, hint). It's also possible that it won't be. You'll have to wait and see. Like the last few months.

Don't hurt me.

Well, worry not. The CXM boyz are due to meet up in just about a week, and wacky hijinks will no doubt ensue. So prepare to get your groove on, there'll be more celebrity cameos, more alien abductions, and of course, more wishful thinking. So stay tuned.

Oh, and three words: Spider-Man Trailer.

Dan tested, mother approved.
