Updates Mondayish

Join list for notification!
August 13, 2001

Ha! You thought we couldn't do it, but we showed you! Taste the wrath of our Monday morning comic. We hope you enjoy the second installment of CXM's We Wish We Were Asian Month, and be prepared for yet another exciting episode next week. As to why there is only one comic a week at the moment, we decided it was more feasible to guarantee you one freshly prepared strip every week than to tantalize you with the promise of two comics that we might not be able to deliver. If you want to stay on top of all CXM related matters, join our email notification list by putting your email address in the box at the top of the page. Don't worry, there won't be any spam; just pure CXM notification goodness. Plus, it's low in saturated fat. So now, as soon as a new strip goes up, those of you who are special will receive an email message telling you to check the page. How's that for cutting edge functionality, eh? Oh, you want more? Well, how about this: those of you who are on the email notification list will receive notification before the strip actually appears on the page. If that's not incentive enough for you to join the list, then get the hell off our page. Also we want to apologize to those of you who were on the list yesterday morning when Jason decided to confusingly email all of you. He has been...chastised.

You may have noticed, if you are observant, or for that matter conscious, that we've been making a few changes to the page design. Some of them have been a long time in the works, such as the colors of the column box to the left, or the redesigned archive. I want to apologize to Netscape 4.x users who've reported a missing scrollbar in the archive, as it's still there. The only fix I've found is to turn off JavaScript support (in the Preferences -> Advanced panel). Internet Explorer and Netscape 6.x do not have this problem.

There have been some inquiries about CXM related merchandise, and the boyz have been discussing it amongst themselves. But before we go ahead and take any definitive action, we thought we'd ask you, our audience and potential consumers, what you think? So we'll be fielding a poll about merchandising options, namely t-shirts. You'll see the poll when we get up, so don't be afraid to make your thoughts known (except you, Armen, you should be afraid).

So, aside from being short of comics, you may have also noticed that we've been a bit short on columns lately. This is mainly a matter of it being summer vacation, though come to think of it, we're not actually any more busy than school right now. It's more that now we have stuff that we'd prefer to do rather than write about. When we're at school, it's more like we want to write columns to put off things we have to do. Anyway, to get to my point here (and I did have one), we'd like to invite any of our readers to submit guest columns. We've already had one a few weeks ago by Chris Collins, a friend of Jason's from UMass. I've suggested to John Brooks that he should write one if he wants to remain our friend, and get our love. By love, I mean punching.

Here's a few cool trailers I've seen lately that I think you should see too. First up, Spy Game, due out in November, features Robert Redford and Brad Pitt as CIA operatives. I will say no more, except that it's directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun, Enemy of the State) and things blow up. Also, check out this trailer for Justice League, which will be on Cartoon Network this fall. Very cool. Though Jason, the erstwhile DC Comics intern, couldn't tell me which Green Lantern they're using. Bah, what is he good for?

Next week: another comic! Kai returns to Newton! Jason and Dan leave Newton!

Dan learned to shoot from violent videogames.

Quote of the Day: "Oh, that knife."
-Alec Baldwin, The Shadow
